From the terrace you head through the front door of Primrose Cottage and walk into an open plan country kitchen and it’s warm welcoming AGA, there is a full sized double electric oven for the summer months when the aga is turned off! There is also a sociable family sized dining area in the kitchen. Head into the main hallway with it’s slate flooring and into the sitting room with comfy seating for 10 and a wonderful log burning fire. There are double doors that open out onto the raised patio, overlooking the garden and fields to the sea.

Further along the hallway you will find a fun games room with table football and a handy utility room with a washing machine/dryer. Downstairs there is also a good sized family shower room with WC.

Upstairs there is the light and airy dual aspect master bedroom with a super king sized bed, hand basin and TV. The second double bedroom has a king size bed with lovely views out over the garden and across the fields. There is a bunk bed bedroom and 2 further large bedrooms each with 2 twin beds – one of the these bedrooms is accessed through the other. A large family bathroom is also upstairs.

The property also benefits from having optic fibre broadband recently installed, as well as BT & Sky Sports.

The sunny raised paved area is a wonderful spot for sitting around the outdoor table or relaxing in the wicker chairs soaking up the views and tranquility of Cornwall.

An outdoor shower with hot and cold water is located at the end of the path, ideal for rinsing off wetsuits, boards, dogs and all that sand!

Two dogs are welcome with an additional charge of 25.00 per week per dog.

Being an old cottage there are exposed beams and in the kitchen the ceiling is fairly low and some of the doorways can prove a challenge for our taller visitors!

What we like about this property...

We love this property!  The number of returning guests proves that it is a perfect place to stay in Cornwall. Primrose Cottage is close to the beach but far enough away to escape when it gets busy. Also it is very close to the ever popular Cornish Arms which is a great place to eat and meet the locals.

Such a beautiful Cottage in very peaceful surroundings. The house was more than enough for 5 of us (2 adults & 3 children) as there are basically 5 bedrooms and 2 washrooms. There is enough room for both the adults and children to have their own space to do their thing. Treyarnon Bay is a 10 minute walk down the road and a lovely little bay for families with great coastal walks over to the longer beach at Constantine Bay and Trevose, or the other way to Porthcowan Bay. The cottage has an outdoor shower so when you return from the beach or hiking you have means of cleaning yourself and your equipment before going back in the house (very helpful) Both of us and the children loved staying at Primrose Cottage and were very sad to say goodbye at the end of our holiday. Tim was a brilliant host and fantastic with information and very responsive. I felt very confident and comfortable in communicating with him. Many thanks Tim for the opportunity to have a lovely relaxed holiday.

The Area

What we love about the area...

Treyarnon Bay is a fabulous large surfing beach with beautiful golden sand. Wonderful for families, building sandcastles, fishing in rock pools and swimming in the sea. When the tide is out there is a large natural swimming pool – an amazing experience not to be missed. The bay also benefits from a handy store in the summer months, perfect for daily essentials, a morning paper and there are also a few pop up cafes along the beach. Open all year round is the Youth Hostel, situated just off the beach, which serves good food and a selection of beers and wine. Wander along to Constantine Bay you can indulge in an ice cream or enjoy the perfect cappuccino.

Being so close to the beach and the coastal paths, Primrose Cottage offers the opportunity to relax and unwind without having to think about travelling far. The area has some of the finest clifftop walking in the county.

If you do venture a little further afield, Padstow is just 3 miles away. Here there is a fabulous choice of restaurants, cafes, pubs and galleries, so plenty for all the family. You can book a boat and fishing trips from the famous harbour and take the passenger ferry over to Rock and discover beautiful Daymer Bay – in the evening you could try your hand at crabbing – a must for children of all ages.

For golf enthusiasts and just 2 miles away, is the championship course at Trevose. A fantastic course in a spectacular location.

The village of St Merryn is just a mile up the road for Rick Stein’s pub, The Cornish Arms.
