Seagull Barn is a romantic stone cottage located in Boscastle

Enjoy viewing the 3D Tour below.

This pretty cottage is the perfect hideaway for a stay in north Cornwall. There are many delightful character features, including a solid slate fireplace with wood burner, open beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. In a wonderful elevated position the coastal and countryside views go on forever. Seagull Barn is a great little holiday home for couples, cosy winter breaks or a family holiday, with all the attractions Boscastle and the surrounding area have to offer.

The Accommodation:

The cottage is reached by a series of stone steps that arrive at a stable door and the enclosed private garden and patio are to the right, with garden furniture and a barbeque, perfect for those long summer evenings and alfresco dining.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need to make for a stress-free holiday and includes a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge with freezer compartment. A cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and plenty of cookware, crockery, glassware and cutlery. An AGA adds to the character, but it is not in working order.

The living area is reached via a stable door from the kitchen. At one end of the living room, situated below a bay window, there is a dining table and chairs overlooking the pretty garden. A wonderful wood burner set into the solid slate fireplace makes for a really cosy atmosphere with 2 sofas to relax into. There is a TV and WiFi.

Upstairs the principal bedroom is split over two levels with the kingsize bed positioned on a platform in order to take advantage of the delightful views through a large arched feature window. (NB. low eaves above bed). There is an ensuite shower room with WC. Downstairs there is a twin bedroom, next to a bathroom and WC.

Bed linen and towels are provided at the property with beds made up on arrival for your comfort. Please bring your own beach towels. All electricity and oil are included in the tariff. A cot and highchair are also provided free of charge should you require them, please bring your own cot linen. Please be aware that there is a steep flight of steps up to the front door. Please note that it is a no smoking house, but we do welcome one well behaved dog at a cost of £25. There is parking for one car. Although there is Wifi at the property, the Boscastle exchange is old that we recommend you bring an Ethernet cable to connect your laptop to the router.

The Area:

Boscastle is a spectacular Elizabethan harbour designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village has shops, pubs, restaurants and a visitor’s centre, but please note it is a long steep walk down from the cottage. However, you can take the car and park at the bottom should you not fancy the climb back. Historic Tintagel is only 3 miles away, while Bude (20 minutes by car) offers all the desired seaside attractions including surfing.

In the other direction you are only 20 minutes from Polzeath, one of Cornwall’s most popular family beaches – again another favourite with the surfers and body boarders and there are plenty of places to hire a wet suit in the chillier months. The North Cornwall Coast path is not too far away and nearby you can enjoy, seal-spotting, bird watching, coarse and sea fishing and horse riding.
