Booking Terms & Conditions
DEPOSITS – All offers of accommodation are subject to availability and no booking can be accepted unless accompanied by a deposit of 25% of total holiday cost. Reservations are held for 7 days to give sufficient time for the booking form and deposit to be received. If we do not hear from you within that time then the booking is void.
PAYMENT – The tariff includes a 1.5% booking administration fee. The balance of the tariff is payable 8 weeks prior to date of arrival. Cheques should be made payable to Cornish Seaview Cottages Ltd. Should this payment not be made by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and re-let the accommodation. However, if it is not possible to re-let the unit, the balance payable still remains due. Payment for late booking (within 14 days of holiday) must be made by return.
SECURITY BOND – A returnable security bond must be sent at time specified, i.e. 8 weeks prior to date of arrival. We will retain your card details which will provide us with a bond if required due to damage or failure to comply with these booking terms and conditions. If charges have to be made, the card will be debited. We will destroy the card details within 28 days of the holiday. A small charge will have to be made for administrative work carried out in respect of the deductions to the security bond.
CANCELLATION – In the event of cancellation, every effort will be made to re let the property. If we are successful in doing this, all monies will be repaid less a £25 admin fee. If, however, we are not able to re let the property, the following conditions will apply:
Cancellation more than 8 weeks before the start of the holiday:
Guests are liable for the 25% deposit.
Cancellations less than 8 weeks before start of the holiday:
Guests are liable for the full cost of the holiday.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE – Bookings are from 3 pm on the day of arrival until 10 am on the day of departure.
TENANTS OBLIGATIONS – THE TENANTS AGREE:
a) To pay the cost of all damage to the structure, grounds, fittings or contents (fair wear and tear excluded). This is irrespective of whether the security bond is sufficient to cover this. This includes repairs, replacements and the cost of special cleaning (e.g. stained carpets).
b) Please note all damage and breakages must be reported to the caretaker and/or owner as soon as possible during your stay. All minor damage such as breakage of glasses etc. should be rectified before leaving or, if this is not possible, should be paid for at the end of your holiday.
c) To take good care of the house during occupation and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the holiday.
d) Not to exceed the total number of people specified on the booking form, unless agreed in writing beforehand.
e) To allow the owner reasonable access for the purposes of inspection or repair.
f) Not to cause annoyance or nuisance to the occupants of adjoining properties.
g) To comply with the security and safety precautions noted in the house manual.
h) Dogs and pets are welcome at some of our cottages, at an extra charge of £20.00 per week. They are accepted subject to the Pet’s owner accepting liability for any damage they may do to the property. Any Tenant who takes a pet into the property without permission is in breach of Contract and The Owner has the right to terminate the booking forthwith and to retain all the monies paid by the Tenant. We would ask dog owners, in particular, to observe the following rules: Dogs must be under strict control at all times while on the property. You should not assume that if a garden is described as enclosed it necessarily means it is ‘escape-proof’ for dogs or other animals – very few gardens meet this requirement. Pets must not be allowed on the furniture or in bedrooms and hair must be well cleared up before departing. Owners are expected to bring suitable bedding for their animals. Any fouling of lawns etc. must be cleared up without delay.
Whilst every endeavour is made to ensure that the particulars of our brochure and literature are correct, we cannot be held responsible for any changes or alterations. Further, the proprietors cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to visitors’ property. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation at any time should it be deemed in the best interests of the proprietors, or their guests, so to do. Any refund of booking fees will be made at the discretion of the proprietors.
AVAILABILITY – Although the house may be available for letting throughout the year, this is subject to a maximum of 140 days.
