The Camel Trail

The Camel Trail offers 17 miles of mostly level and traffic-free track that runs from Padstow to Wenford Bridge, via Wadebridge and Bodmin following the disused railway line once used by the London & South West Railway.

You can rent bikes from Padstow Cycle Hire.
For cycling further afield, Go By Cycle can deliver bikes to you anywhere in Cornwall.

The Beau Vista Ground Floor and / or Beau Vista First Floor apartments in Padstow are ideally situated for the starting point of the trail. From here it passes through the wooded countryside of the upper Camel Valley and alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary – a paradise for birdwatchers. From Wadebridge to Poley’s Bridge, the route passes through some magnificent woodland, managed by the Forestry Commission. Leaving Bodmin, the route also skirts Bodmin Moor, a beautiful granite landscape with tors, bogs and streams.
