Lovely spacious flat with wonderful view out to sea over fields. We could even see St Michael’s on the Mount. Amazing skies and birds and a feeling of seclusion and being off the beaten track. Very nicely kept ornamental garden and pond out front so we could lie in bed on the lower floor and still see the garden. Clean and well equipped this is a very special place.

The Area
What we love about the area...
From the garden, over a stile and across one field, you are immediately on the South West Coast Path — making this a perfect base for walkers. A twenty minute stroll along the coast path will bring you to Prussia Cove, taking in dramatic Cudden Point and little Piskies Cove along the way — or wander a similar distance in the other direction and you’ll find the beach and village of Perranuthanoe, with its seafront café, the excellent Victoria Inn gastro-pub and several other places to eat and explore. The coves here were once a smuggler’s haven and still have a secretive feeling to this day. A mile up the road is the hamlet of Rosudgeon which has it’s own shop and a pub. A short drive away you will find the superb life guarded beach of Praa Sands, with a café and shop, and a little further away you can explore Porthleven, Marazion, Newlyn Harbour, Mousehole, or even the Lizard Peninsula, St Ives and Penwith. The elegant town of Penzance with it’s historic buildings, eclectic mix of shops, art studios and enticing restaurants is just 6 miles down the coast. The famous stone amphitheatre of the Minack Theatre is only a 30 minute drive away – a unique experience not to be missed. For foodies you can buy your own culinary ingredients from the brilliant little Trevelyan Farm Shop, or take advantage of Rick Stein’s, Amelies or Kota in Porthleven. The nearby Goldsithney Stores provides a daily delivery service which is well worth it if you fancy having a lazy morning. A visit to St Michael’s Mount, wandering back bare-booted across the causeway as the tide laps in over your feet is a must. Then head home to the Garden Apartment and enjoy breathtaking sunsets looking out towards the twinkling lights of Penzance, Mousehole and far off Land’s End.
There are ample things to do in this part of Cornwall. Surfing beaches abound and most provide equipment to hire and lessons if needed. Watersports are available at Praa Sands and there is also a 9 hole golf course. There is an excellent 18 hole golf course at Tregenna Castle in St Ives, 10 miles away. Tennis courts can be found in Penzance, 6 miles from the apartment. Ocean High is based at Marazion, the home of St Michael’s Mount, offering stand up paddle boards, kitesurf and powerkite kit and lessons.
