What we like about this property...
Fursewood is a house of surprises, with a sleek modern interior hidden behind a traditional Cornish stone exterior. The views are amazing, with rolling fields leading down to the wild Atlantic coast. The house itself has 4 large bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, and the open plan kitchen/dining/living area is ideal for bringing the whole family together after an energetic day at the beach.
Fursewood provided a restorative and much needed holiday after a horrible 6 months of covid. The beautiful house and surroundings were wonderful including watching the sunset over the sea each evening from the giant windows. Perfect, thank you !
"We have had a fantastic week at Fursewood. Situated just outside Widemouth Bay and with views of sea and sunset Our family of 7 adults came to holiday and celebrate my big birthday. This house really is the most amazing space. We feel we are in a modern, beautiful, stylish spacious space..."
What we love about the area...
Widemouth Bay is a very long open bay popular with families and surfers and at low tide there are hundreds of rock pools to explore. Widemouth Bay offers fantastic conditions to learn surfing or body-boarding, which is why many of the local surf schools are based there. It has also received the Blue Flag Beach Award 2017.
Situated just 3 miles north of Widemouth Bay is the popular town of Bude, also accessible along the South West coast path, which offers some excellent walking routes, whether you enjoy a short stroll to a stunning picnic spot or prefer a more challenging hike.
Bude is large enough to provide a good range of facilities with a choice of accommodation, shops, restaurants and sports facilities, yet it is small enough to retain its Cornish charm. The nightlife is also quiet and relaxed. The area has a laid back charm. There are many independently owned shops and restaurants to explore. As well as a diverse range of indoor and outdoor activities – from sports centres, soft play areas and stately homes to fishing, cycling, golf, tennis, surfing and other water sports.
There are many beautiful sandy beaches to choose from with surfing hotspots, vintage style beach huts and dog friendly choices. There are also spectacular views and unique natural attractions to be found – the Bude sea pool for example is cut into the rock at Summerleaze Beach providing a more relaxed dip or child friendly swim when the sea is rougher.
