Property Details

Little Forge is a single storey stone barn attached to the owners home, The Forge. It is in a beautiful peaceful rural location. There is a private courtyard garden, ample gated secure parking.  It’s a 10 min drive to gorgeous Mawgan Porth beach, pub and shops, 15 mins to stunning Watergate Bay and picturesque Padstow. Happy to accept one small dog but we are unable to accept children.

Little Forge is small but perfectly formed and tastefully decorated with original artwork, unusual mirrors and a bit of a country house feel in the sitting room.

The cottage is approached across a large gravelled drive to the arched entrance porch, which leads into the modern, well equipped kitchen, with built in hob and oven, washing machine, dish washer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine, as well as plenty of space to eat at the breakfast table. A door from the kitchen leads to the living room, which has a 2 seater sofa and comfy leather arm chair; there is a wall mounted TV and two useful storage cupboards. The bedroom suite has a king size bed with pure Egyptian cotton bedding and a lovely 4 piece en-suite bathroom, with feature roll top bath, separate shower cubicle, art deco style wash hand basin and WC.

The whole property has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished with many individual touches, such as original artwork and unusual mirrors, which help to create a warm and comfy space.

Willow fencing provides privacy in the small part walled courtyard garden so you have somewhere to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening after a day out exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall.

You can slip out the side gate from the drive onto a beautiful private wooded lane. Keep your eyes peeled for the resident Buzzards, a pair of Jays and the Roe Deer in the woods.

It is a very peaceful and rural but not remote location and you have easy and quick access to the North Cornish coastline, the A39 and A30 and are very well positioned to explore all of Cornwall.

Unfortunately the property is not suitable for children but will accept 1 well behaved dog.

The Area

What we love about the area...

Little Forge is located in a peaceful rural location, surrounded by miles of open countryside, and yet located only 15 minutes drive from the fantastic surfing and family friendly beaches to be found on the north coast. The beautiful beach at Mawgan Porth is a 10 minute drive away, and is sheltered by high cliffs to each side and at low tide there is ample sand for everyone, even on the busiest of days. For a relaxing drink and lovely food, the Merrymoor Inn is a situated close by.

The property is also located approximately 15 minutes minutes drive from Watergate Bay which has over two miles of golden sand at low tide, stretching towards Newquay, and out to sea enormous waves come in from the Atlantic providing a spectacular sight and a popular surfing and kitesurfing spot.

Fistral Beach is one of the world’s top surfing destinations, backed by high cliffs and sand dunes, making it a playground for hundreds of enthusiasts who flock to the beach to get a fix of the big waves. All the big UK surf competitions take place here including the Famous Night Surf, Boardmasters Surf Championships and National Surf Championships, so be sure to check your diary to see what’s on.

For a traditional Cornish Cream Tea, try St. Mawgan Tea Room, which is a ten minute walk away. The Stables – Fistral beach is lively and fun pizza restaurant part of the group of restaurants which sit hunched above the best surfing beach on the North Coast. The Fish House – Fistral Beach, in a stunning location this is a small restaurant but more importantly it was awarded a Michelin Plate last year. The food is fantastic especially if you love fish! The Merrymoor Inn, Mawgan Porth, this is a very well situated pub on the other side of the road from our local beach Mawgan Porth. Tables outside have views over the beach and it has a great atmosphere – right in the centre of all the surf and beach action.

Padstow has become one of the UK’s premier destinations for foodies, and it’s easy to see why. You have to try Rick Steins Café, with its ever-changing menu of seasonal fish. For a hearty breakfast, why not try Ben’s Crib Box Café or if you fancy somewhere different, Bin Two on the South Quay is the perfect place to watch the world go by, and it’s dog friendly too. If Italian is your cuisine of choice, Embers Wood Fired Pizza in Market Place could be the place to visit. Other restaurants worth trying include Green’s Of Padstow, Rafferty’s Café & Wine Bar and Prawn on the Lawn.

The South West Coastal Path offers over 630 miles of stunning scenery, but you don’t have to walk it all! There are many challenging golf courses within reasonable driving distance too, including Newquay Golf Club, St. Enodoc Golf Club and the courses at Holywell Bay.
