What we like about this property...

Recent guest reviews:

“the property was very nice, comfortable & equipped with everything we needed for our short stay. the host had left milk, eggs, delicious butter & a fresh cob loaf of bread which we were very grateful for. after a long drive we were in need of a cup of tea. there was tea bag’s & coffee in the cupboard along with a few other condiments & cupboard supplies but we had bought our own.
the cottage was very clean & cosy feel when we lit the log burner.”

“The cottage was in a very peaceful location and the garden was lovely. The furnishings were excellent and very comfortable.”

“First step through the door, I instantly fell in love with this cottage. It is absolutely gorgeous. The whole cottage is spacious and lovely-designed. The whole place is really clean. Breakfast items ( butter, milk, orange juice and bread ) were waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. The kitchen is fully equipped. Garden is a perfect place to see a sunset.
Thing I love the most about this cottage; heated floor ! Its been raining and cold when we went and I was so glad for this heated floor.
Location-wise; it is very easy to reach Newquay from the cottage, maybe like 10-15 mns.
I would definitely come back here again without a doubt.”

“The veranda & garden were a really lovely bonus. Everything inside was well designed & extremely comfortable. The welcome bread, milk & juice were a kind touch too.”

“This place is a little piece of sheer heaven, just what was needed. I’d go back in a heartbeat! Everything you need is there & waiting. We loved coming in from a day of exploring, shutting the curtains & lighting the fire. It was so cosy & comforting. Our dog loved the beautiful garden, she had a great holiday here too.”

“Lovely little cottage in beautiful secluded setting. Everything you could need for a comfortable self catering stay, and only because the weather was so good that we didn’t spend more time there.
Friendly helpful host, and a great location for exploring North Cornwall.
Would highly recommend.”

The Area

What we love about the area...

The Potting Shed is located in a peaceful rural location, surrounded by miles of open countryside, and yet located approximately 15 minutes drive from the fantastic surfing and family friendly beaches to be found in Newquay.

The property is located approximately 15 minutes minutes drive from Watergate Bay which has over two miles of golden sand at low tide, stretching towards Newquay, and out to sea enormous waves come in from the Atlantic providing a spectacular sight and a popular surfing and kitesurfing spot.

Fistral Beach is one of the world’s top surfing destinations, backed by high cliffs and sand dunes, making it a playground for hundreds of enthusiasts who flock to the beach to get a fix of the big waves. All the big UK surf competitions take place here including the Famous Night Surf, Boardmasters Surf Championships and National Surf Championships, so be sure to check your diary to see what’s on.

Newquay has many different cuisines on offer, such as Estrella Morada Bar de Tapas, which is both lively and reasonably priced. For a evening to remember, The Fish House is hard to beat. The Fish Bar on Morfa Hall Cliff Road offers some of the best fish around or for a traditional Sunday Roast, 12 Beach Road is well worth trying.

The South West Coastal Path offers over 630 miles of stunning scenery, but you don’t have to walk it all! There are dozens of circular walks that start within a few miles of Woodlands. There are many challenging golf courses within reasonable driving distance too, including Newquay Golf Club, St. Enodoc Golf Club and the courses at Holywell Bay.
