Cornwall is proud to be home to some of the best artisan food producers and local farmers in the UK. Along with the spectacular array of fresh fish and shellfish, when it comes to Cornish food, the county is at the top of its game for producing noteworthy foods across the spectrum.

Boscastle Farm Shop, Hillsborough Farm, Boscastle

On the doorstep of  Boskenna, this award winning farm shop and café occupies a stunning vantage point on the hills above Boscastle overlooking the rolling Atlantic. Surrounded by National Trust land and only 50 meters from the coastal path it’s the number one stop for walkers. The farm is renowned for the home reared award winning beef, lamb & pigs. Everything made in the coastal kitchen goes into the shop and café, which is famed for homemade burgers & sausages, pies and pasties to beautiful cakes, puddings and Cornish treats!

Trevilley Farm Shop & Cafe, Trevilley Farm Lane, Newquay, TR8 4PX

Just 3 miles from Surfside is Trevilley Farm. A traditional family-run farm that prides itself on good quality Cornish foods. The farm produces and sells quality Cornish meat & artisan products and are uncompromising when it comes to only selling Cornish produce. All products are locally grown or produced and supplied from Newquay and the surrounding region, virtually all of which are organic.

If you’re in the Newquay area, The Kingsley Village Food Hall, is stocked with enough novel produce to make a weekly shop considerably more interesting and healthy. A proper butcher, a fishmonger with seafood landed at Newlyn and an incredible bakery and patisserie section are the stars of this food hall. Make time to check out the exceptional Cornish wines and beers.

Bangors Organic Farm Shop, Poundstock, Bude, EX23 0DP

No more than 10 minutes from our large family home of Fursewood and just outside Bude, this little farm shop not only boasts its own highly respected organic restaurant, but has a great range of organic vegetables and fruit, as well as homemade bread, tasty jams and relishes, along with locally sourced cheeses and dairy products, all sold from ‘The Big Green Shed’. The produce grown in the Bangor gardens is certified organic by the soil association, and is picked fresh just a few hours before being served in the restaurant.

The Restaurant is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7pm (book 24 hours in advance)

Hilltop Farm Shop, Slaughterbridge, nr Camelford, PL32 9TT

If you’re lucky enough to be staying in one of our Crackington Haven family coastal cottages, be it Hazeldene, Lower Hillcott, Penkenna Beach Barn, Old Cottage or Pentreath; make time to visit this quintessentially Cornish farm. The farm shop offers hand-picked seasonal fruit and vegetables as well as traditional Cornish produce from around the area. A café restaurant with panoramic views serves everything from cream teas, Sunday roasts and all day breakfasts!

Padstow Farm Shop, Padstow

This great little farm, located close by The Beau Vista Apartments, grow vegetables, rear their own animals, and even grow their own homegrown durum wheat for their ‘Padstow Pasta’ – a best seller, so you can’t leave without a pack! The vegetables are grown in a beautiful Victorian walled, the beef comes from Ruby Red Devon cattle and the pork is usually from a heritage breed such as Saddleback or Tamworth.

The Shop, Trevone Farm, Trevone, Padstow

Four minutes from Primrose Cottage and Arnold Cottage, in the heart of Trevone, is ‘The Shop’. From this locally owned deli you can choose from an extensive range of fresh, high quality local produce, including fruit and vegetables, bread, milk and dairy products, meats, confectionery, wines and spirits. They’re also happy to take email/telephone orders and offer free local delivery.

Open 7 days a week, all year round : 9am – 5pm (extended during July and August)

Gluvian Farm Organics, Mawgan Porth

For all you fans of organic food then the locally based Gluvian Farm Organics, in Mawgan Porth, could be exactly what you’re looking for. They create food boxes to suit any tastes or budgets and all produce is seasonal, so you can be sure everything is as fresh as it can be.

Curgurrell Farm Shop, Portscatho

Curgurrell Farm Shop in Portscatho, on the Roseland Peninsular is the place to go, it’s a seafood lover’s dream come true! Open 6 days a week the shop offers the very finest lobsters, crabs and fresh fish caught by the owners’ sons. The shop also sells local and home grown fruit and veg, free range eggs and homemade preserves. Curgurrell is truly unique, with its own tiny harbour just below the farm, and often the day’s catch is on sale within an hour of being caught. Since its opening nearly 20 years ago Curgurrell’s handpicked local crab has become renowned for its superb flavour and freshness. Look out for the hand line caught bass, mackerel and pollock, together with red mullet, sardines, brill, turbot, john dory lemon sole, haddock, plaice and scallops to name a few.

Trevathan Farm, St Endellion, Port Isaac

The village of St Endellion is moments from  Bay View in Port Isaac, so take the opportunity to stock the larder with a visit to Trevathan Farm! With an abundance of seasonal vegetables fresh from the field, which you can either pick-your-own or find ready for you in the shop. While you’re there, browse the local goodies, pickles, honey, cheeses, fudge, free range eggs, homemade cakes and clotted cream from the local dairy. Why not try the wide range of homemade jams and preserves made using Trevathan fruit. Pop some country wines, Cornish beer and good old Scrumpy in the basket too!

Two great farm shops to add to your ‘to do’ list during a stay at The Garden Apt, Acton Castle are:

 Trevelyan Farm Shop, Penzance

Another brilliant little shop where you can buy your weekly groceries, all with green credentials. Based on whatever is growing at the time, Trevelyan Farm offers you fresh produce of the moment – courgettes, beetroot, onion, carrots, Cornish potatoes, free range eggs, sweet peas. The fridges are filled with cheeses, dairy products and meats, and the shelves are crammed with all sorts of sauces, pastas, condiments, biscuits… you’ll find it impossible to leave without picking up something new to try!

and Higher Trenowin Farm, Nancledra, Penzance

The farm shop is a big part of the farm, where along with their own hand reared beef, they sell seasonal vegetables that they grow and other locally grown fruit and vegetables. In fact, the farm is proud to say the vegetables travel only yards, not miles, to be in their Farm Shop! They also sell local pork which is used to make their sausages and they cure their own bacon. Local lamb that has been grazed at Higher Trenowin during the year can also be bought. The eggs are from the small flock of free-range hens which peck around the field in front of the shop. The eggs are also used to make cakes and biscuits and you’ll also find jams, preserves and local honey.
