Only 12 minutes drive north from Boskenna is St Nectan’s Glen, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Here you can walk to the Waterfall & Hermitage through an ancient woodland with ivy clad trees and along the banks of the River Trevillet.
Experience St Nectan’s Kieve, a spectacular sixty foot waterfall through a hole in the rocks. Accompanied by two additional waterfalls and a beautiful woodland walk.
At this sacred site of Saint Nectan’s Glen, the river Trevillet has carved its way through Late Devonian slate, to create a magnificent 60 foot waterfall and punched a hole through the original kieve (basin). The water now cascades into a beautiful valley. Many myths and legends, from King Arthur and his knights to ghostly sightings, surround this place: but one undeniable fact is that it is a place of outstanding natural beauty.
St Nectans Cafe – there is a wonderful new café / restaurant to relax in before or after your visit to the waterfall. Sit and enjoy a variety of treats such as Cornish cream teas, freshly ground coffee and locally home made cakes, or a delicious sandwich or bowl of soup through to full meals.
