Property Details
Old Cottage’s slate porch leads into a charming living room with a lovely open inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove. Large comfy ‘loaf’ sofas flank the fireplace, so ideal to cosy up on chilly evenings or to collapse into after a busy day walking, chasing waves, building sandcastles! Please note there is no TV at this property.
The kitchen is to the side of the sitting room. The dining table, benches and chairs are beside the window so you can sit and look out across the coastline. The ‘country- cottage’ kitchen is fully equipped and has a new granite work surface, butlers sink, cooker and microwave, along with a washing machine and dryer.
The original wooden stairs lead up to three stunning bedrooms, sympathetically refurbished keeping the original wooden floors and doors. The 2 double bedrooms and one twin room have been stylishly decorated with designer accessories added throughout creating a modern twist to this still very traditional coastal cottage. There is a newly refurbished bathroom with a toilet and over-the-bath shower with simple contemporary fittings.
Outside there is a small sunny paved area with an elevated seat looking out to sea, a truly calm spot to relax and watch the stunning sunsets.
When the family return from the beach there is an outdoor hot water shower, perfect for rinsing off wetsuits, sandy feet, and the dog! A further toilet is accessed from the outside to avoid getting sand inside and there is a storage area for all the beach gear to be tidied into.
Old Cottage has free, allocated parking for 1 car which is next to the cottage.
Happy to accept 1 dog at £25. Changeover day is a Friday. Bed linen and towels included, please remember beach towels.

Hazel
Fantastic location for a beach swim or barbeque or just a morning cup of tea by the sea. Love the outside hot shower after a swim too. The cottage is a squeeze for six people but we managed. Can only really have one person at a time in the kitchen. Outside seating is lovely for breakfast. It’s a quirky historic cottage which is very homely, especially with the log burner in the evening. Nearby Cabin Cafe has lovely food and we used the bus from there to visit Boscastle and St Nectan’s Glen. Oh and don’t forget to sit on the wall opposite the pub for the beautiful sunsets.

The Area
What we love about the area...
The beach of Crackington Haven is an unspoilt cove, flanked by magnificent cliffs, which are a mass of wildflowers in the spring and early summer. If you enjoy exploring the rock pools, playing a game of beach cricket or spending an exhilarating time in the surf, you will love your stay in Crackington. Only the small village road separates the sea from two well-stocked beach shops, where you can hire surf boards & wetsuits; the charming cafes serving delicious crab sandwiches, pasties, drinks and all flavours of ice cream and the excellent Coombe Barton pub. There is also a great local shop in Crackington village which will deliver grocery goods to Old Cottage. You can order online before your holiday – visit
The local village tennis courts are easy and cheap to hire, whilst the famous South West Coast Path runs through Crackington and offers miles of well sign posted trails following the spectacular coastline.
