Mawgan Porth

Chi An Mor and Beach Retreat have direct access onto Mawgan Porth beach, one of Cornwall’s quieter family destinations.

Mawgan Porth is in a quiet sandy bay some five miles north of Newquay. Its large sheltered beach sits at the bottom of steep cliffs, and is a highly popular family holiday spot. It has excellent lifeguard facilities from April to September. Shielded on both sides by cliffs, it has acres of soft white sand essential for castle-building, rock pools and caves to explore and waves for both body-boarding and surfing.

Beachside facilities include a pub with good food, a cafe, a newsagent, beach goods & surf shops, fish and chips take-away and a restaurant. ‘King surf’ school, based on Mawgan Porth Beach, offers both individual and family based surf lessons and specialises in smaller groups.

Mawgan Porth is a year-round dog friendly beach
